The event began with an opening ceremony featuring speeches by Holguín, together with Menelaos Menelaou and Mehmet Dânâ, representing the two leaders. Holguín emphasized that the committees constitute an important platform for the development of dialogue and cooperation between the two communities in Cyprus, that their work in various fields directly contributes to daily life, and that they serve to build trust. She also recalled that the United Nations Good Offices Mission has been facilitating the work of all the committees since 2008.
The event included various activities for children, film screenings, a photography exhibition, and information stands. It was noted that all the activities were organized by the Technical Committees and implemented with European Union funding by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in cooperation with the Good Offices Mission in Cyprus.

In this context, cooperation is being strengthened in areas such as frequency management, the reduction of radio frequency interference, and making the communications infrastructure more efficient.
