At the BTHK Registration Unit, your device pre-registration is completed; once the process is finalized, the documents are delivered to you.
After the device pre-registration process, the customs duty must be paid at the BTHK Customs Unit located in the same building. During payment, you are required to present the device with IMEI, an identification card (for TRNC/Turkish citizens) or a passport (for foreign nationals), as well as the documents received from the BTHK Registration Office.
Following the customs payment, the document obtained must be submitted either to the BTHK Registration Office in the same building or to the Turkcell / Telsim Subscriber Registration Center in your district.
To find out your IMEI number, dial #06# on your device’s call screen. After dialing, the IMEI number will be displayed automatically on the screen.
All devices with an IMEI number, i.e., devices that allow mobile communication through a SIM card, must be registered. This includes mobile phones, tablets, and similar devices.
Devices brought from abroad can be used without registration for a total of 90 days within a calendar year, starting from the moment they are first used or from the time a notification is received indicating that the device is unregistered. If registration is not completed within this period, the device will be barred from communication at the end of the period.

Devices that are not found in the Institution’s records or brought into the country through illegal means are considered unregistered (illegal) devices. You can check your IMEI number by dialing #06# and verify it through the IMEI Inquiry section. If you receive a notification stating ‘IMEI is temporarily available for use’ or ‘No record was found for this IMEI,’ you are required to register your device.
Devices with altered IMEIs: Pursuant to the Electronic Communications Law No. 6/2012, such devices are barred from communication. These devices can only be used with the line to which they have been paired.
Unregistered devices: Devices brought from abroad can be used unregistered for a maximum of 90 days within a calendar year; if not registered within this period, they will be barred from communication.
The form to be obtained from the Post Office must be completed in full with the information of the device and the applicant,and submitted to BTHK with a wet signature.
Only foreign students who are not citizens of the TRNC are eligible for device registration under the student exemption.
Identity document: The original ID card for Turkish citizens, and the original passport for foreign nationals.
Student certificate: The original student certificate from a university approved and active by the TRNC Ministry of National Education and Culture, approved and up-to-date.

For devices legally imported, their information must be reported to the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTHK) by the importing company so that they appear in MCKS.
