Young Minds New Ideas (GBYF CYPRUS) Project Competition Is Being Held on Friday, May 8th
The "Young Minds New Ideas (GBYF CYPRUS) Project Competition", organized in collaboration with the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTHK) and the Turkish Informatics Association, will be held on May 8, 2026, hosted by European University of Lefke.
This event, organized for university students studying in the field of informatics in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, aims to develop students' innovative thinking skills, generate new ideas, and connect qualified human resources with the industry.
At the event, projects developed by students from 10 universities operating across the TRNC will compete, and participants from different universities will create a strong environment of competition and collaboration. Within the scope of the event, graduation projects of students studying in information technology and engineering faculties of TRNC universities will be evaluated, and projects that place will be awarded.
GBYF CYPRUS goes beyond being merely a project competition; it serves as a platform that brings together universities and the business world. In this context, projects developed by students will be presented for evaluation by industry representatives, investors, and relevant stakeholders, contributing to the development of potential collaborations.
The organization, which holds great importance in terms of supporting the entrepreneurial capacity of young people and encouraging innovative projects, aims to contribute to the development of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the field of informatics.
The event will be held at the European University of Lefke campus and will begin with opening speeches at 10:00 AM.
