Information Technologies and Communication Authority Participated in the 42nd National Informatics Convention

The 42nd National Informatics Convention, organized by the Informatics Association of Turkey (TBD), was held in Ankara on February 5–6, 2026. Under the theme 'Post-Digital Transformation: Digital Sovereignty and Sustainability,' the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTHK) participated in the convention with a delegation of four led by Chairman Kadri Bürüncük.

"During the two-day convention, various topics were addressed, including the new reality of the digital century, the new technological era of sports, the smart ecosystem of health, telecom, 5G, fiber and beyond, public sector insights, digital entrepreneurship and the acceleration era of the new ecosystem, digital unity in Turkic Republics and building a common future in informatics, the new paradigm of digital in education, the new era of information, equality and leadership in the digital age, and the roadmap for the new vision with the digital leaders of the future. The event was attended by numerous representatives from public institutions, universities, the private sector, NGOs, scientists, informatics professionals, and experts.

During the opening program of the convention, speeches were delivered by Kenan Nurhan Altınsaat, President of the Informatics Association of Turkey (TBD); Prof. Dr. Ali Yazıcı, President of TBD Academy; and Dr. Ruşen Kömürcü, General Manager of ULAK Communications Inc. The speakers evaluated key issues, including the digital transformation process, digital sovereignty, and sustainability.

In his opening speech, Kenan Nurhan Altınsaat, President of TBD, stated that the Informatics Association of Turkey has been resolutely working for 55 years to establish a society based on information and documentation, leveraging computer and informatics sciences.

TBD Genel Başkanı Konuşma Stating that they conduct studies contributing to future strategies through 'branded' events that bring together the public sector, private sector, academia, and NGOs in line with a collective mind, Altınsaat emphasized that the informatics conventions—held for 42 years—serve as a vital platform where the annual efforts of both the Informatics Association of Turkey and the entire ICT sector are evaluated.

Furthermore, Altınsaat stated that, as has been the case for the past three years, they continue their joint efforts within the scope of the 'Informatics Island Cyprus' cooperation protocol signed with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
