Required Documents for Application

✓ Device with the IMEI to be registered
✓ Original T.C. Identity Card or original Passport
✓ Photocopy of Turkish ID card or passport (1 copy)
Original student certificate
✓ Photocopy of student certificate (1 copy)

What Will I Pay?

BTHK Device Pre-Registration Fee 580,60 TL Payable at the BTHK Registration Unit.
Only for students eligible for the discounted rate. Discounted Customs Duty for Students
4.000 TL (for one mobile phone)

Important: Only students who are foreign nationals and not citizens of the TRNC are eligible for device registration under the student exemption.

Cash is not accepted at the BTHK Registration Unit. You can pay the pre-registration fee by debit or credit card.
  • A current student certificate approved by your university.
  • At least one mobile phone line registered in your name, to be presented when you apply.

Only mobile phone lines registered in your name may be used with a phone registered under this discount.

What Do I Need to Do?

BTHK / MCKS

Complete the pre-registration of your device.

Customs

At the Customs Office in your district, present your device with an IMEI, your Turkish or TRNC identity card (or passport if you are a foreign national), and the documents issued by the BTHK Registration Unit.

Complete the Registration Process

Submit your documents to a Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell or Telsim Subscriber Registration Centre in your district.

24-month rule: The student exemption cannot be used again before 24 months have elapsed.
